Memocore™ 066 is a three-dimensional fiducial marker used for external beam radiation therapy against prostatic cancer. Memocore™ 066 is produced in advanced nickel-titanium alloy with memory-shape effect allowing it to be inserted and removed through the urethra, thereby avoiding both the piercing of skin and tumor, as well as leaving behind the implant. Memocore™ can be read by most types of scanning equipment. It is inserted under local anaesthesia in an outpatient setting in app. 20 minutes and removed again just as easily.
